FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to froth flotation methods for isolating sulfide minerals from basic metal sulfide ores. In flotation process, depressant is either (i) polymer material containing structural unit having general formula -[X]x-[Y]y-[Z]z- where X is acrylamide or acrylamides' mixture polymerization moiety, Y anion group-containing polymer unit, Z hydroxyl group-containing polymer unit, x is about 35 mol %, y varies from about 1 to about 50 mol %, and z varies from about 1 to about 50 mol %, or (ii) mixture of above-defined polymer with polysaccharide.
