FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, more specifically, production of steels of increased and high machinability, particularly, of alloyed steels. SUBSTANCE: method includes introduction into stream of molten metal of bismuth shots at angle of 30-60 deg to melt stream. EFFECT: uniform distribution of bismuth in volume of produced ingot after casting with size of bismuth particles ensuring maximum machinability of alloyed steel, reduced losses of bismuth by evaporation and oxidation during its supplying into melt stream, preserved metal mechanical properties provided by specifications. 1 tbl
