FIELD: manufacture of musical instruments. SUBSTANCE: instrument has flat arc-shaped base with elongated cheeks and reed mounted in-between in a spaced relation to cheeks and connected to base. Instrument is provided with electronic tone generator and acoustic modulator. The latter is attached to arc-shaped part of base in plane of its cross-sectional area. Modulator membrane covers reed surface without contacting it. Tone generator has tone and frequency controls. Kybyz (wargan) may be provided with microphone fixed above reed to acoustic modulator case or to base. EFFECT: enlarged playing and functional capabilities while retaining classic design and original sound of kubyz (wargan). 2 cl, 1 dwg
