FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves mounting farm machine combined with vehicle on flexible pivotal supports and transmitting vibratory motion to it; joining reference weight to it; repeatedly measuring natural frequency of formed system; preliminarily hanging farm unit to pivotal support; upon detecting force under one of flexible supports during vibratory motion of farm unit, measuring frequency of produced vibrations. Natural vibration frequency of farm unit without additional weight is determined on the basis of measured value, with value of decrement of damping calculated on the basis of obtained data being taken into account.
