FIELD: motor control systems. SUBSTANCE: drive has speed governing circuit incorporating speed setting element, double- input comparison gate, speed governor, semiconductor switch, and reversing speed sensor that has sense-of-rotation unit, polarity reversal unit, and non-reversing speed sensor. Double- pole input of semiconductor switch power circuit is connected to output of pulse-operated DC voltage regulator whose input is connected to DC power supply. In addition, reversing drive has voltage polarity determining unit, two voltage dividers, adding unit, voltage modulus discriminating unit, and control amplifier, all of them, together with additionally introduced EXCLUSIVE OR gate, NOT gate, and second polarity reversing unit, forming control mechanism shaping unit for pulse-operated DC voltage regulator to minimize voltage drop across power transistors of semiconductor switch carrying amplitude-controlled phase currents both under steady state conditions of synchronous machine and during its starting, reversal, and braking.
