FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to measure mass flow rate of substances transported over large-diameter pipes, for instance, in main oil and gas pipe-lines. Measured flow is passed through measurement section of pipe-line located on surface of the Earth and oriented with lack of parallelism relative to its axis of rotation, measured flow is irradiated with fast neutrons and slow neutrons are counted in two points on outer surface of pipe-line equidistant from vertical plane passing through longitudinal axis of measurement section. Change in counting of slow neutrons is caused by rotation of the Earth thanks to Carioulis acceleration. In this case of counting of registered slow neutrons is proportional to measured flow rate. Cosmic radiation is used in the capacity of source of fast neutrons which interaction with atmosphere of the Earth forms neutron radiation. EFFECT: increased measurement precision. 2 dwg
