FIELD: measurement technology, specifically, measurement of mass flow rate of streams of substances transported over pipes of large diameter, for instance, in oil and gas pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: measured flow is let pass through measurement section of pipe-line arranged on surface of the Earth horizontally and oriented with reference to meridian at angle different from 90 deg, measured flow is irradiated by fast neutrons from fast neutron source located on outer surface of measured section of pipe-line. Difference of count of slow neutrons in two points on outer surface of pipe-line equidistant from fast neutron source is measured. Difference of count of slow neutrons proportional to measured flow rate emerges thanks to forces of Coriolis acceleration caused by rotation of the Earth.
