FIELD: measurement technology, particularly, optical biosensors; applicable, for instance, in control of water quality, detection of presence of movable microorganisms in water by optical methods. SUBSTANCE: detector has two or more registering photodetectors installed so that noise component of sounding radiation is cophasal on both photodetectors and useful signal produced by scattering on movable microorganisms is noncorrelated on both photodetectors. This allows for elimination of common-made interference by subtraction of photodetector signals. Increase of sensitivity is attained due to making the cell in form of a length of hollow optical wave guide that makes it possible to increase its length, i.e., to increase sounded volume without reduction of sensitivity per unit of volume.
