FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical biosensors for detection of mobile microorganisms in liquid being even in the presence of large amount of Brownian particles. Method involves measurement of mean amplitude of laser radiation intensity fluctuation scattered on particles that is proportional to both concentration and mobility of particles. Liquid turbidity is measured that is proportional to particles concentration only and the presence of mobile microorganisms in liquid is determined by comparison of both signals.
