FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described are sodium silicates as structure-forming agent for washing agents or detergents as overdried finely dispersed solid roentgenoamorphous agent having structure in the form of crocks containing less than 15 wt % of water. Sodium silicates are prepared by drying sodium silicate and producing effort to obtain structure in the form of crocks. They have molar SiO₂:Na₂O ratio of 1.3-4 and bulk weight of undondensed solid product of equal or more than 500 g/l and are capable of forming incrustations. Aqueous sodium silicate agent is dried using hot gas as drying medium and/or by annealing sodium silicate dried by spraying drying and having water content of at least 15 wt % at 120-450 and by producing effort simultaneously or subsequently to obtain structure of crocks. Said silicates include compound component comprising zeolite and at least one solid component and also solid washing agents or detergents having bulk weight of at least 700 g/l.
