FIELD: mechanical engineering, applicable in power gearings. SUBSTANCE: in an involute gearing the relation between the parameters of engagement input ((SVs)in)0,5 and output ((SVs)out)0,5 is selected proceeding from the following condition; (H1/H2)0,25((SVs)out)0,5/((SVs)in)0,5= 1,0-1,7, where H1/H2 - ratio of tooth surface hardnesses of the drive and driven wheels; S = Sfr/(ΔPb+0,1Ws)0,5; Sfr - edge contact friction path with due account made for precision of manufacture and deformation under load Ws; Vs - relative speed in edge contact; ΔPb - difference of pitches of the gear contacting by the tooth edge and mating gear in the edge contact phase. Gearing engagement factor εk in the involute gearing is selected from the following condition: εk= εαεβk≥1,05, where εαk,εβk - profile and longitudinal engagement factors with due account made for wear in the edge contact phase on path Sfr. Elimination of the edge contact on path Sfr is accomplished by modification of the points or roots of the teeth. EFFECT: enhanced jamming load (wear resistance), reduced loss and vibration activity. 3 cl, 2 dwg
