FIELD: chromatography, determination of molecular mass of unidentified components of complex mixture of substances belonging to different classes of organic compounds. SUBSTANCE: results of chromatographic analysis with employment of signals of two detectors connected in series are used to compute relative coefficient of sensitivity of examined components for two detectors by heat conduction and flame ionization that is used jointly with confinement index and experimental dependence on sensitivity indices for normal paraffin hydrocarbons to determine molar coefficients of sensitivity. Mass coefficients of sensitivity are found by method of double internal standard and internal normalization. Molecular mass of examined substance is determined by relation of mass and molar coefficients of sensitivity. EFFECT: provision for determination of molecular masses of two or more unidentified components of complex mixtures of substances by results of chromatographic analysis with employment of two detectors. 3 tbl
