FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves alteration of regulation function depending on voltage ratio to regulation function depending on deviation of reactive component of stator current and other criteria when reactive component of stator current reaches its minimal (maximal) value, or when voltage in monitored position reaches maximal tolerant value, or voltage level drops below given value. EFFECT: increased dynamic range of excitation for long-term operations due to regulation of direct parameter of reactive component of stator current (or reactive power) of synchronous machine. 2 cl, 2 dwg
