FIELD: mechanics of fluids. SUBSTANCE: control of turbulence in boundary layer or in areas bounded by wall which have turbulent zone at wall where pair of vortices passing in way of flow and obliquely spreading structures interacting with this pair of vortices is formed is effected by means of local introduction of two separate disturbances which are effective for forming in local zone the combined disturbing field which has stable bond with obliquely distributing structures and modify them by method which increases or decreases interaction of spreading structures with system of pair of vortices, thus locally intensifying or weakening turbulence in area of flow. One disturbance may be formed due to interaction of medium with linear strip or row of strips of delta-shaped projections found on wall in width of flow (i. e. crosswise relative to flow) and second disturbance is formed by introducing acoustic energy into local zone. Besides that, use may be made of linear strip or series of wing-shaped projections for forming pair of vortices of opposite rotation for control of turbulence in boundary layer.
