FIELD: agriculture, in particular, retention of soil moisture in areas with severe winter and low snow cover. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing strip plowing in autumn, with moldboard and nonmoldboard plowing strips being arranged in alternation. Moldboard plowing strip length is 3-8 m and nonmoldboard plowing strips length is 10-20 m. Method allows spring reserve of soil moisture accumulated during winter to be effectively retained with minimum employment of drawing vehicles.
