FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: threshing unit has drum and deck. Threshing members are arranged in rows of helical lines on drum cylindrical surface and are made in the form of plates of different height. Lengthwise adjacent rows of threshing plates oriented from drum center to its periphery are arranged in succession to form group of plates and are alternating in circumferential direction with group of plates arranged in successive adjacent lengthwise rows oriented from drum periphery to its center. Height of plates of each subsequent adjacent row oriented in both directions exceeds that of each previous adjacent row of each group. Cereal heap is supplied into gap between drum and deck. Rows of low plates provide for treatment and leveling of upper part of cereal heap and rows of higher plates act upon remaining part of cereal heap. Such construction allows layer-by-layer treatment of cereal heap and leveling of material over the whole width of threshing unit and full threshing of grain to be provided.
