FIELD: chemical-pharmaceutical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing 2,6-diiso-propylphenol (propofol) used as antiseptic agents. Invention describes method of their preparing and using to attain anesthesia including initial narcosis and maintenance of the general narcosis and for sedative effect attaining. Invention provides the improvement of preparation which shows very strong effect, metabolism of preparation and its rapid elimination from blood stream. Anesthesia deep is easily controlled, recovery of patient after withdrawal of preparation occurs rapidly. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness, improved properties of emulsions. 20 cl, 1 dwg
