FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying gelatin as enzyme reaction substratum being a component in photographic emulsion on exposed or developed X-ray film. Trypsin and tears mixture is added (at a dilution of 1: 20). The result is visually evaluated in semi-quantitative way based on lysis zone. Trypsin and tears concentration is selected to retain linear relationship between enzyme activity and antiproteolytic activity of tears. Antiproteolytic activity of tears is expressed in inhibition units determined from calibration curve built with aprotinine used as standard trypsin inhibitor. Antiproteolytic activity being equal to 2.5 inhibition units/ml and lower, protease inhibitor preparations are considered to be indicated. EFFECT: simplified method. 3 dwg
