PINCH ROLL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: equipment used in spinner, twister or other textile machine for manufacture of products by wet method. SUBSTANCE: pinch roll has spindle with roller bearings adapted for carrying cases with resilient cover. Cases are isolated from action of aqueous solution by means of closures put onto their one ends. Spiral grooves are cut on inner surface of cases at side adjacent to fixed spindle. One case has right-hand direction of groove and other case has left-hand direction of groove. Gap between surface of fixed spindle and grooved surface of case does not exceed 0.2 mm. Resilient ring is positioned between outer ring of roller bearing and fixed spindle. Spindle is provided with bore preventing pinch roll from setting in improper position. Such construction allows roller bearings to be protected from moisture, and consumption of labour for machine service and maintenance to be reduced by eliminating everyday manual operation of lubricating pinch rolls of machine. Quality of produced yarn is improved by reducing rejection due to soiling of yarn with oil and bronze wearing products. Grade of yarn is increased by preventing pinch rolls from skewing and nonuniform rotation.
