METHOD OF FORMING UNTWISTED ROVING FROM FLAXEN FIBER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves soaking draw-piece of threads delivered from drawing unit in water on drum; compacting draw-piece of threads to form roving and winding produced roving on cross-wound bobbin; squeezing draw-piece of threads by drawing it through compacting devices; winding roving on cross-wound bobbin at coil lead angle of 10-15 deg and directing it for chemical treatment without subjecting to drying process. Such method allows roving drawing mode to be improved and roving bobbins convenient for further processing during spinning without necessity for additional rewinding to be produced. In addition, roving is formed without employment of rotary flyers and reciprocating heavy weights normally used in the process.
