APPARATUS FOR CORRUGATING TUBES Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, namely equipment for making annular corrugations on tubes. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes mandrel, shaping unit with elastic punch and die halves placed in holders, cylinder for feeding blank by stroke and power cylinder. Smooth and shaped die halves are arranged in semisleeves with possibility of providing controlled interval between them due to additional rods provided with retaining nuts and mounted in cylinder of mechanism for axial motion of smooth die halves. Feeding cylinder is joined with holders, both cavities of cylinder of mechanism for axial motion of smooth die halves at end period of feed are communicated with drainage and additional rods engage with controlled stop for forced axial opening of die halves. Apparatus provides rapid and accurate regulating of doze value, optimization of blank deforming at corrugating due to lowered pressure onto punch, correction of apex of corrugation and also accurate automatic readjustment of die halves in order to eliminate springing of formed corrugations.
