METHOD OF AND DEVICE FOR SWITCHING ON AND REGULATING CAR LIGHTS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry; automobile electrical equipment. SUBSTANCE: three-position change- over switch is used for switching on and regulating car lights. Change- over switch is connected to positive terminal of storage battery. Use is made also of current regulator and circuits switching supply source of illumination of change-over switch, symbols, scale and instruments and switching on of marker lights and headlights. Change-over switch has neutral and two operating positions in which three contact groups are switched on by three independent moving contacts. With ignition switched on, supply circuit of change-over switch illumination source is closed. With change-over switch shifted into first operating position, marker lights are switched on and illumination sources of symbols, scales and instruments are switched on in parallel with marker lights through current regulator. Change-over switch illumination source is connected to current regulator, and headlight supply circuit is closed. Owing to provision of illumination of change-over switch, attention of driver is not distracted from road in dark hours. EFFECT: enhanced safety on rod. 5 cl, 2 dwg
