METHOD FOR DEMODULATION OF CONTINUOUS-PHASE BINARY MODULATION SIGNALS FOR MULTIPLE-BEAM RADIO CHANNELS, AND DEVICE WHICH IMPLEMENTS SAID METHOD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2148890 C1

FIELD: telecommunications, in particular, transmission of digital messages through communication channels with dissipation of signal power in time and frequency. SUBSTANCE: method involves splitting received signal into two quadrature components, which are used at each clock interval simultaneously for estimation of quadrature pulse response from communication channel, converting calculated quadrature pulse response taking into account parity of next information element, generating quadrature reference signals corresponding permissible code combinations, generating quadrature pre-emphasis signal, detection of differential quadrature signal by means of subtraction of quadrature pre-emphasis signal from demodulated quadrature signal, comparison of differential quadrature signal over analysis interval, which includes channel response to first packet with information signal, to quadrature reference signals, detection of code combination, which corresponds to quadrature reference signal that has minimal difference from differential quadrature signal and belongs to first packet under sign detection. Corresponding device has quadrature splitter, memory unit, unit for estimation of channel characteristics, inverter, parity switch error, pre-emphasis signal generator, pre-emphasis signal subtraction unit, generator of reference signals, metric calculation unit comparison and selection unit. EFFECT: increased reliability of demodulation of continuous- phase frequency-modulated signals and minimal frequency shift. 2 cl, 1 dwg
