FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, ignition of charge on sinter belt. SUBSTANCE: invention is based on injection of pulverized solid fuel into combustion products of back-up fuel, mixing and heating due to it to a temperature exceeding the rated ignition temperature. The obtained high-temperature pulverized gas mixture is fed to the surface layer of sintering mixture with a subsequent ignition at air supply. Burning of back-up fuel is accomplished in a remote combustion chamber at a stoichiometric or close to it fuel-to-air ratio. The pulverized fuel feed unit and the mixing chamber connected to this chamber make up a remote system of preparation of the high-temperature pulverized gas mixture. The chamber of conveying and distribution of pulverized gas mixture is made in the form of a horizontal duct located across the sinter belt and connected to the unloading shaft through a number of distributing tuyeres. EFFECT: enhanced quality of sinter due to reduction of unfavorable thermal effect on the layer of charge in the stage of its external heating. 4 cl, 4 dwg
