GAS SCRUBBER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: heat power engineering, chemical industry, metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: proposed device is designed for cleaning of gases from hard gaseous impurities. Device has cylindrical housing with gas inlet and outlet branch pipes, sprinkler, water distributor, foam generator made in form of horizontal partition, foam stabilizer arranged over ring vane swirler. Drip trap and guard lip are installed in direction of gas liquid mixture flow. Outlet gas heater is installed at scrubber outlet before outlet branch pipe to maintain temperature of gases higher than dew point. Proposed device provides three-stage emulsification. Contaminated gas flow, directed tangentially into cylindrical housing of gas scrubber, passes through ring vane swirler, being emulsified by interaction of swirled gas flow with liquid delivered in countercurrent flow. Second stage of emulsification is provided by passing gas-liquid mixture through drip trap. Third stage of emulsification occurs in wall area of cylindrical housing under guard lip. EFFECT: improved efficiency of cleaning and reliability of operation with provision of high capacity by intensification of heat-mass exchange, elimination of drop carryover, reduced corrosion. 3 cl, 1 dwg
