FIELD: medicine; production of surgical stitch threads. SUBSTANCE: device has drive, receiving mechanism, thread spreading mechanism including pair of lead screws receiving axial displacement from drive and carrying sliders with thread guides, and slider movement direction changing mechanism. Gear wheels fitted on lead screws are in meshing. Slider movement direction changing mechanism is made in form of turning lever carrying gear set into rotation by drive. With lever turned, gear comes into meshing alternately with one or other gear wheel. Microswitch is mounted on lever. Stops for engagement with microswitch are secured in sliders. EFFECT: increased accuracy of winding of thread of required length. 5 dwg
