FIELD: agriculture, in particular, machine milking of cows. SUBSTANCE: method involves soaking animal's teat in physiological solution; measuring animal's teat impedance before and after milking; exposing part of mamma enclosed in teat cup liner to vacuum supplied in the form of variable pulses at the frequency of 70-75 pulses per minute and vacuum value of 50 kPa for 6 min; determining vacuum resistance of cows by time during which impedance recovers to its initial value. When initial impedance value is recovered during 15 min or more, animal is regarded as nonresistant to milking unit vacuum effects. Method allows early determination and selection of animals physiologically resistant to vacuum effects of milking unit. EFFECT: increased efficiency in early selection of animals on the base of their adaptability for machine milking, and simplified method. 5 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
