FIELD: production of free-form type upholstered furniture, such as padded stool, chair, armchair and sofa of different sizes and forms. SUBSTANCE: piece of upholstered furniture has air-permeable enclosure of flexible material having upper and lower parts interconnected through intermediate part. Flexible enclosure is partially filled with flowable material made in the form of particles. Piece of upholstered furniture is further provided with device for restricting changes in the form of piece of furniture. This device has flexible elastic and/or nonelastic tightening members attached to enclosure for connecting it in different points, and pneumatic device for compensating changes in the volume of piece of furniture, which are caused by accumulation of residual deformation of particles of flowable material due to continuous or multiple repeated application of loading to furniture seat. Such construction allows the extent of filling of internal volume of piece of furniture to be recovered in case of occurrence of residual deformation of material particles, and initial extent of filling the enclosure to be varied as desired by the user to make the piece of furniture more rigid or pliant.
