APPARATUS FOR CUTTING SHEET MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for cutting sheet materials by disc cutters arranged as engaging pair. SUBSTANCE: when drive unit is energized carriage 5 with bracket 16 is moved along guides 7 until engagement of driven disc cutter 8 and disc cutter 10 with material 1 to be cut. At rotation of driven disc cutter 8 material 1 is drawn between disc cutters 8,10. Cutting edges of disc cutters cut out narrow band of material 1 to force said band into recess of disc cutter 8 by action of disc cutter 10. Lateral walls of recess clamp cut band for moving it along arc due to rotation of driven disc cutter 8 until splitter 12. The last extracts band out of recess for coiling it. Pulling effort of band wound by means of driven disc cutter 8 is transferred to cut material 1 and to carriage 5. Cut material is fixed on table 3 by means of fixing members 4; wheeled carriage 5 freely moves on guides 7. At motion of carriage bracket 16 freely passes through slit formed in cut material 1 after cutting out band. Pulling rope 21 is uncoiled from traction drum 23; rope 22 is wound onto drum 24 for lifting weight 26. When disc cutters 8,10 achieve opposite end of cut material 1, carriage 5 arrests automatically and it returns to initial position until stops 27 by action of weight 26. Apparatus may be used for cross cutting of coiled sheet material and separate flat sheets. EFFECT: enhanced quality of cut surface, simplified design of apparatus. 4 cl, 4 dwg
