FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: double flywheel is used for transmission of torque and absorption or compensation of torsional vibrations which may arise in vehicle gear-box. Double flywheel has two coaxially-positioned flywheel bodies mounted for limited angular turning relative to each other in direction of starting or braking. It also includes several turning linkages. The first lever of linkage is couped to one of flywheel bodies for turning, and the second, is coupled to other body of flywheel for turning too. Linkage contains axle which couples the first and second levers for turning. Flywheel may be controlled by relative turning of flywheel bodies through action of levers. Flywheel includes one or more auxiliary springs supplementing control action of levers and functioning during considerable part of relative turning of flywheel bodies in direction of starting.
