FIELD: navigation; automatic control of ship motion over preset trajectory. SUBSTANCE: in the course of navigation, parameters of mathematical model change considerably depending on operating conditions ( running speed of ship, under-keel clearance, ship loading, listing, angle of trim, external factors and dynamic characteristics) which adversely affect quality of automatic control if these factors are not taken into account. Enhanced accuracy of determination of parameters of ship's motion model is achieved due to use of leeway signal received from satellite navigation system, electronic model corresponding to duel- scale mathematical ship's motion model; fine adjustment is performed by means of bivariate criterion at varying weight coefficients. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
