FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method comprises stage of preparing synthesis gas, stage of catalytic conversion of synthesis gas into methanol in some connected reactors, including operations of feeding and heatings synthesis gas in inlet zones of reactors with outside heat carrier, operation of catalytic conversion of synthesis gas into methanol to heat gas flow by applying heat resulting from methanol synthesis in reactor active portion, removal of heat from gas flow in reactor outlet zone operations of recovery of methanol and utilization of tail gases. Method comprises feeding synthesis gas containing more than 40 vol.% of nitrogen, at hydrogen to carbon oxide varying from 2.8 to 1.8:1. Heating of gas flow to heat carrier temperature in reactor inlet zones is carried out by using temperature gradient along reactor length which exceeds temperature gradient for heating gas flow in reactor active portion due to reaction heat. Methanol synthesis process is carried out within temperatures from 170 to 280 C, pressures from 4.0 to 10.0 MPa and volumetric flow rates from 1000 to 10.000 h. Heating of gas flow to heat carrier temperature in reactor inlet zones is carried out by using temperature gradient of not higher than 10 C/dm, temperature gradient for heating gas flow in reactor active portion being not higher than 3 C/dm.
