FIELD: energy saving and service life saving processes; energy saving methods of production of methanol from natural gas and hydrocarbon- containing tail gases of industrial processes. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes partial oxidation of hydrocarbons, stage of cleaning synthesis gas, stage of conversion of synthesis gas into methanol, stage of recovery of heat of tail gases in power and/or thermal plants. Process of partial oxidation of gaseous hydrocarbons is conducted in energy catalytic unit including power machine and catalytic reactors at mole ratio of oxygen to gaseous hydrocarbons lesser than 0.6, mole ratio of water vapor to gaseous hydrocarbons lesser than 0.7 and temperature in reaction zones of catalytic reactors higher than 700 C; process of synthesis of methanol from synthesis gas at content of nitrogen in it not exceeding 30 vol-% is conducted at cyclic change of concentration of raw material in inlet flows of each of them.
