FIELD: coatings. SUBSTANCE: substrate is coated using intermediate film. Coating is generally conducting or semiconducting and substrate is ordinary glass. In one of versions, coating is first applied onto a flat flexible film in one or more layers, coated film is then placed on substrate, and resulting combination is treated in heating chamber under controlled conditions: first in neutral atmosphere to evaporate sacrificial film and then successively under oxidative and reductive conditions to induce formation of strong bond between coating and substrate. In another version, non-sacrificial film has surface contacting with substrate, which is physically and chemically compatible with substrate and which is attached to it both chemically or thermally. EFFECT: enabled precision imaging on substrate. 23 cl, 4 dwg, 9 ex
