COMPOSITION OF UNDERGLAZE PAINT FOR DECORATION OF POTTERY WARE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: chemical industry, particularly, manufacture of porcelain-faience ware. SUBSTANCE: described is manufacture of porcelain-faience ware and decoration thereof by method of silk-screen printing followed by glazing with aqueous faience glaze suspension and firing at 1140-1160 C. Composition comprises, wt. %: water-soluble carbamideformaldehyde resin 22-26; ceramic pigment, 2.0-20; glycerol, 10-14; polyvinyl alcohol, 0.5- 0.9; hydrochloric acid, 0.1-0.5; water, 4-5; Ni, Co, Cu, chloride, 1.4-1.8 and mineral fillers (chalk), 23-27; and sun-dried porcelain, 18-28. Use of composition makes it possible to improve significantly quality of paint and varnish coat (especially uniform covering area) at much less content of pigments in paint and varnish coat 2-20%, to obtain dichromatic hue of paint and varnish coat adequate spreading of glaze and to replace underglaze by silk-screen printing.
