FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for soilless growing of green-cut fodder from cereal seeds has row of multiple-tier stacks of columns, including outer single-section columns and middle two-section columns. Withdrawable growing pallets are mounted on columns: one set of pallets is mounted on outer columns, and two sets of pallets are mounted on middle columns. Vertical electric illumination blocks are positioned between columns arranged in row and provided with horizontal illuminants having luminescent lamps. Illuminants are oriented transverse to row of columns and set so that reflector of each illuminant of given tier is positioned close to bottom surfaces of pallets of higher tier. Electric illumination block is made as separate unit positioned outside columns. Such construction of apparatus allows distance between tiers in vertical plane to be reduced, required green mass irradiance level to be kept without increasing number and intensity of lamps, and deteriorating thermal effect of light sources upon plant rootage to be eliminated.
