FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes heat treatment of raw material, leaching of cake, and subsequent isolation of aluminum compounds (oxide, chloride, and other) from production solution. Heat treatment is carried out at 400-550 C for 0.5-2.0 hr in presence of reagent consisting of magnesium chloride hydrates (bischofite, carnallite).
