FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in metallurgy. The method of alumina producing includes treatment of the aluminium containing feed stock by hydrochloric acid, crystallization of the hexahydrate of aluminium chloride by evaporation of clarified chloride solution, and thermal decomposition of the hexahydrate of aluminium chloride with alumina creation. The crystallization is performed with addition of calcium chloride with weight ratio of calcium chloride to design weight of alumina in clarified solution 2-4 upon presence of seed crystals of the hexahydrate of aluminium chloride with average size 250-500 mcm.
EFFECT: invention improves quality of alumina and reduces power consumption for its producing.
