FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing debenzenelated high- octane mixture of hydrocarbon mixtures containing at least aromatic and nonaromatic hydrocarbons having six or more carbon atoms, original mixture is separated by rectification into stillage product containing not more than 3 wt %, preferably not more than 1 wt % of benzene, and distillate containing preferably C6 hydrocarbons and which contains not higher than 36.6 wt %, preferably not higher than 10 wt % of nonaromatic C7 hydrocarbons, which is subjected to extractive rectification in the presence of polar organic aprotic solvent having boiling temperature of 150-250, distillate flow containing preferably nonaromatic C6-C8 hydrocarbons being withdrawn. Said flow is combined with stillage product resulting from rectification, and stillage product which is essentially mixture of said solvent with hydrocarbons is withdrawn and from mixture which flow containing preferably benzene which mixture is then distilled off from hydrocarbons having higher boiling temperatures.
