FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: earth dam includes side upstream and downstream fills, concrete diaphragm made with ventilated hollow and resting with its base on concrete gallery whose ceiling separates gallery hollow from diaphragm hollow, and freezing columns filled with liquid heat carrier from base to external heat exchanger located behind dam boundaries. Heat exchanger is hydraulically connected with freezing columns with the help of header pipe and distributing pipe located within dam in gallery hollow. Made in gallery ceiling are vertical straight channels in the form of pipes communicating gallery hollow with diaphragm hollow. Each pipe may be closed by a cover. Pipe longitudinal axis coincides with that of one of freezing columns, and inner diameter of pipe cross-section exceeds outer diameter of freezing column. Location of freezing columns in dam body and base increases reliability of dam operation. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 2 dwg
