DEVICE FOR OBSTETRIC AID IN PATHOLOGIC COW CALVING Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: device has movable platform whose front part has appliance for fixation and withdrawal of fetus and is provided with mechanism for changing direction and value of applied force for withdrawal of calf. Platform consists of hinged together links capable of extending for required length depending of supposed sizes of calf. Winch of mechanism for obstetric aid is connected with air-powered drive through slide valve which allows change of motion direction and applied force. Mechanism for changing the direction of force in calf withdrawal is made in the form of lever simultaneously servicing as a tool carries and handrail for motion of car on which mechanism of passage of obstetric rope and lever retainer in the form of sector are mounted. Obstetric ropes are fastened to calf legs, and calf is withdrawn in cow labors. Side guards installed on platform allows use of device not only for obstetric aid but also for calf keeping.
