FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: dry cows are twice - 2 mo and 3 wk before calving - subsequently introduced with a set of preparations: sodium selenite at the rate of 0.1 mg/kg body weight, 15.0 ml ferroglukin, every 10 d vitamin E per 5000 IU, and 7 d after the first introduction of above preparations dry cows' diet is additionally supplemented with 290-300 g bio- ginseng oil-meal for 30 d. Vitamin E is introduced every 10 d for 3 d. EFFECT: method enables to improve metabolic processes in pregnant cows, decrease stress impact of metabolic acidosis to develop physiologically mature fetus. 1 cl, 4 tbl
