SUBSTANCE: essence of invention consists in that combustion chamber of blast-furnace air heater has protective appliance located from level of combustion chamber base to level of hot blast pipe union. Protective appliance is arranged in a spaced relation to separating wall equalling 0.002-0.0025 of air heater inner diameter. Made in combustion chamber bottom is pipeline provided with regulating valve and connected with cold blast pipe union to supply cold blast to said space.
