SUBSTANCE: air heating apparatus has block of air heaters (regenerative heat exchangers) for heating blast furnace gas and recovery unit for heating combustion air. Recovery unit is divided into sections positioned in space below nozzles of air heaters and operating simultaneously with them during heating of nozzles.
