FIELD: metallurgy of noble metals; separation of metallic palladium from solutions. SUBSTANCE: formate ions are introduced into starting acid or alkaline solution containing palladium and chloride and chloride ions and formate ions are again introduced into solution thus obtained which contains palladium powder. Process is repeated for at least two times. As a result, metallic palladium is obtained in form of powder of preset size with homogeneous particles. Yield of palladium exceeds 99.9%.
