FIELD: transport engineering; brake systems. SUBSTANCE: automatic brake lever 1 with built-in slack adjuster mechanism is designed for transmitting brake force-from brake cylinder and is mounted on camshaft 2 setting the brake into action. To reveal wear of linings, disk 10 with code marks is connected to camshaft 2, while casing 9, 18 is connected either to brake lever 1 or to fixed part 4 mounted on automobile frame. Disk 10 has round paths with code marks, each path having equal length magnetic sections. Lengths of magnetic sections of different paths are different. Hall cells in number corresponding to number of paths with code marks are installed in cover 18 of casing 9, 18. Each receiver is installed to read magnetic sections on corresponding path provided with code marks. Signals from receivers show angle of turning of disk to relative to cover 18. Proposed invention is aimed at increasing strength and reducing overall dimensions of wear indicator and providing accurate information at compatibility with electronic equipment of modern vehicle.
