FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus used for protecting plants from spring frosts by watering in restricted areas, such as greenhouses, on household plots, has working vessel connected to auxiliary vessel via flexible pipeline, and hermetically sealed cover, pressure pipeline, float valve joined to pressure pipeline and having float placed inside auxiliary vessel filled with water. Volume of working vessel is determined from ratio V(p) = Fh/ α (t1-t2), where V(p) is volume of working vessel; F is section area of auxiliary vessel; h is stroke of float from fully closed position of float valve to fully opened position; t1 is temperature at which opening of float valve is initiated; t2 is temperature at which float valve is fully closed; α is volumetric coefficient of air expansion, which is 1/273. During operation, apparatus senses air temperature and provides automatic switching-on of devices for supplying water to sprinkling nozzle for frost protection irrigation, or switching-off of these devices. Operation of apparatus does not require employment of skilled personnel. EFFECT: simplified construction, operation and maintenance, and reduced power consumption. 3 dwg
