FIELD: agriculture, in particular, automatic irrigation of limited areas. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has main accumulating vessel with opening in its bottom, vessel bottom closing valve, and float valve disposed in auxiliary vessel. Water level in auxiliary vessel is lower than that in main vessel. Auxiliary vessel is connected via flexible hoses with hermetically sealed containers provided with porous bottoms and positioned in ground, and with discharge pipeline. Upon absorption of water by soil through porous bottoms of containers water level in auxiliary vessel is decreased and float valve is opened to allow delivery of water via float valve into main accumulating vessel. When water level in main accumulating vessel reaches predetermined value, water is discharged into low-pressure irrigation system and via pipeline into auxiliary vessel. Water level in auxiliary vessel is increased and float valve is closed. For high-pressure mode of operation of irrigation system, operation time is controlled by time required for supplying small amount of water into main accumulating vessel by slide valve.
