FIELD: material for purification of sewage waters of nuclear and radiochemical industry and also natural water media from radioactive isotopes. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of iron-containing sorbent based on highly dispersed magnetite modified by sodium polyaluminoethylsiliconate in ratio of Si/Al= 2.5-3 with its subsequent heat treatment at temperature of 150-160 C for 60-70 min, and with following amounts of components, wt.%(in terms of dry residue): magnetite 89.19-95.14; sodium polyaluminoethylsiliconate 4.86-10.81. Sorption is carried out under static conditions at independent values of medium pH. Sorbent is loaded at temperature of sewage waters of 20-60 C and time of attaining sorption equilibrium amounting to 5-10 min.
