SUBSTANCE: when treating patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, one determines level of blood serum angiotensin (A2, mg/l) and solves discriminant equation: D = 0.797*A2. When value of discriminant function is less than -17.34, captopril ([2S]-1-[3- mercapto-2-methylpropionyl] -L-proline) is administered in daily dose 25 mg for 4 weeks.
